Viewing Your Top Borrowing Patrons
What Is the Top Borrowing Patrons Chart?
The Top Borrowing Patrons chart is a horizontal bar chart located at the bottom of the Patron Demographics Report. It shows the 10 patrons who have checked out the most books, ranked from highest to lowest.
This gives you a quick view of your most engaged library users — students and teachers who are making the most use of your collection.
Where to Find It
- Go to Reports in the admin sidebar.
- Click Patron Demographics (or navigate to
/admin/reports/patron-demographics). - Scroll to the bottom of the page to find the Top Borrowing Patrons section.
How to Read the Chart
- Each horizontal bar represents one patron.
- The patron's name is shown on the left.
- The length of the bar corresponds to the total number of checkouts.
- The exact checkout count is displayed at the end of the bar.
Patron names are shown in full. Names stored in encrypted form are automatically decrypted for display in this report — only librarians and school admins with report access can see this data.
What You Can Do with This Information
- Recognise top readers — Consider acknowledging your most active borrowers in a reading program or library newsletter.
- Identify patterns — Are most top borrowers from the same grade level or section? This may indicate where reading programs are working well.
- Spot anomalies — An unusually high checkout count from one patron may warrant a check to confirm all items are properly returned.
Privacy Note
This report displays patron names and borrowing counts. Access is restricted to librarian and school admin accounts. Do not share screenshots of this report in public channels.
